Roker Park Conservation Area
Roker Park Conservation Area runs from Roker Park Road on the west edge if the park to the beach ; and from Side Cliff Road to the north of the park just reaching the roundabout at the end of Harbour View. At the very north end of the promenade is the entrance to the Park. Note this is not the former Sunderland AFC Roker Park.

Grannie Annies,
Grannie Annie’s dates back to 1980’s when it was called Nelsons. It was then called The Smugglers until a major refit. Grannie Annie’s, Sunderland – CAMRA Experience
Grandpa Dickies,
Less than five minutes walk south from Grannie Annie’s is Grandpa Dickies Shed. This opened in 2023 and is a modern bar and eatery on two levels. Grandpa Dickies Shed, Sunderland – CAMRA Experience
Poetic License
Moving up from Roker Promenade to the main road, is the Poetic License. This is the pub part of The Roker Hotel, which is adjacent. This pub used to be the brewery tap for S43 Brewery, which is no more. Real ale was removed later , but there has been one report that one handpull was in use in the Spring ( 2024). Queen Vic
The Queen Vic is a hotel with a public bar that used to sell real ale. It was the brewery tap for Blockyard Brewery, which had a brew house behind the hotel. Blockyard have closed down but there are plans for North Pier Brewery to move in ( Letter B on the map) Queen Vic, Sunderland – CAMRA Experience
Vaux Brewery are developing the changing shelter that is at the end of the Promenade. ( Letter A on the map).
