Local Inventory of Heritage Pubs

CAMRA have introduced a National Initiative called “Local Inventories”. The aim of this project is to develop lists of pub interiors that retain some sort historic interest and to include pubs where the exterior is of high quality or has specific features of interest.

Locally we’ve decided to consider the following :-
● Historic England Grade II listed buildings.
● Pubs that have been awarded blue plaques.
● Of any historic interest over 50 years old.
● Pubs included in South Tyneside Councils Local List of Historic buildings. –
These are those buildings that do not meet Historic England’s criteria to be listed nationally, but are important to local residents. As yet, Sunderland City Council do not have a Local List.
● For completeness, those pubs that feature on CAMRA’s “National Inventory of Pub Interiors” are also included.
This is an evolving document that will develop over time.
