Monkton Conservation Area

Monkton Conservation Area is in Monkton Village, south of Hebburn and Jarrow in South Tyneside, and is either side on Monkton Lane from east to west ( Monkton Hall ) This is a hospital. There is only one pub in the village, The Lord Nelson.

The original building dates from 1828 but closed in 1932. A hut in the pub grounds was used till a mock Tudor pub was built in 1933. The pub is owned by Stonegate and serves real ale.

This is very much a locals pub, the nearest public transport is 10 minutes away and the next nearest pub (The Longship) is a mile away.
